ICE MAGICK
Just recently a friend of mine who already has MS and is suffering from rejected skin grafts went down with a fever. I was all ready to light a candle for her when something stopped me. It was the thought that this was not right. She had a fever and I was going to light a flame for her. I could not bring myself to believe that the element of Fire would not be one of the energies transmitted to her.
Not understanding why this should be, I meditated on the subject and out of it came the idea of using ice magick.
If you light a candle the intention and love you put into it is converted to another form, as the candle burns away, this can be transmitted to a recipient. So energy, love etc can be sent. Now I have always just accepted this as a truth and have never before questioned it.
However when a candle burns it, uses up oxygen and produces, water vapour, Carbon Dioxide, soot, carbon monoxide (in small quantities) and other carbon based pollutants. Admittedly very small amounts but multiplied by the thousands upon thousands of candles burn around the world each day this seems in my mind to add up to quite a lot of pollution. So could there be a better way of doing this?
The process seems to involve Intention, love, and the candle. Now presumably you will keep the intention and the love the same so that leaves the change down with the candle. A burning candle works over a long time period (takes a certain length of time to burn) It is physicaly changed from one state to another (I presume to release the love and intention towards someone). So what could do the same?
It struck me that Ice melting to water is a very similar process but not so polluting. If the resultant water were allowed to evaporate then the shift from solid to "Air" is very much the same as burning the candle. The Element of Fire is still used as the ice is melted and then evaporates but it works at a much less violent level.
There are also a few advantages. If left to melt down an ice cube is not going to accidentally set your house on fire. Water drips on the carpet do not cause major hassles. Anyone can safely make ice cubes including children. Ice cubes are better than candles in your whisky...Oh...sorry I drifted!
So what I have started to do is make ice cubes from rain and stream water. I add bruised herb to empower the cubes. Say spells over them the same way I would a candle. then leave them in small bowl to melt and evaporate away.
For those of you who say, "but the herbs are left over". I bury them in the ground and so return them to the earth. The candle leaves stuff behind afterward as well, its just we don't notice. Think of all the extra dust and soot. I.e. pass a blade slowly over a candle flame and see what is deposited on it!
This seems an idea that people can take and make their own and seems a good start point to work out from.
